Terms of Service

These starter terms describe the current DaBid app and must be reviewed before public App Store submission.

Accounts

Users must be 18 or older and must provide accurate account information. Users are responsible for activity under their accounts and for following DaBid safety, listing, and pickup rules.

Marketplace Activity

• Sellers may create local pickup listings in allowed categories only.
• Buyers may place bids on auction listings or request pickup for free listings.
• Sellers must describe items honestly and must not list recalled, stolen, counterfeit, hazardous, prohibited, or legally restricted items.
• DaBid may remove listings, restrict accounts, or take other action when activity appears unsafe, abusive, fraudulent, or outside these terms.

External Payments Only

DaBid does not process payments, store cards, hold funds, provide escrow, guarantee payment, issue refunds, reverse payments, or verify payment proof. If users choose to use cash or an external payment service, they do so outside DaBid and are responsible for that arrangement.

Pickup Only

DaBid is currently pickup-only. Sellers provide public pickup availability before listing and exact pickup instructions after acceptance. Buyers choose from seller-provided windows only. The app does not provide chat, phone or email exchange fields, shipping, delivery, route planning, transportation, buyer protection, seller protection, or pickup safety guarantees. Users should choose safe public places when possible and should not complete a pickup that feels unsafe.

Prohibited Behavior

Users may not harass others, evade blocks, misrepresent items, manipulate bids, post illegal or unsafe goods, request prohibited items, exchange unsafe instructions, or use DaBid for spam, fraud, threats, or unlawful activity.

Free Listings and Food Listings

Free listings are pickup requests, not tax-deduction or donation receipt workflows. DaBid does not verify charities, issue receipts, or provide tax advice. Packaged pantry food listings are limited to factory-sealed, shelf-stable items in original packaging with a valid best-by date and required seller attestation.

Moderation

DaBid uses automated moderation and user reports to help filter unsafe, prohibited, abusive, or illegal content. Moderation is intentionally conservative: DaBid may reject, hold, hide, remove, or restrict content or accounts when automated checks or reports indicate a safety risk. DaBid is not required to publish content while a safety decision is uncertain.

Termination

DaBid may suspend, remove, or restrict accounts and content to protect users, comply with law, respond to reports, or enforce these terms.
