Safety and Prohibited Items
DaBid is a pickup-only local marketplace with conservative item rules and basic report/block controls.
Pickup Safety
- Prefer public, well-lit pickup locations when possible.
- Use the structured pickup flow for accepted transactions; do not rely on DaBid for chat, route planning, or emergency help.
- Do not share unnecessary personal information.
- Do not complete a pickup that feels unsafe.
- Use report controls for unsafe behavior, no-shows, threats, or suspicious requests.
Listing cards may show pickup ZIP, public area notes, and pickup availability windows. Exact pickup instructions are hidden until a bid or free pickup request is accepted and are visible only to the buyer and seller.
Prohibited Items
Users may not list items that are illegal, recalled, stolen, counterfeit, hazardous, weapons, ammunition, tobacco, cannabis, medicines, gift cards, tickets, regulated goods, or items requiring licensing or special handling. DaBid may remove listings or accounts when content appears unsafe or prohibited.
Packaged Pantry Food
DaBid only allows conservative packaged pantry food listings: factory-sealed, shelf-stable food in original packaging with a legible label and a best-by date that has not passed. Sellers must add package photos and confirm the food-specific attestation.
DaBid does not allow infant formula, baby food, homemade food, fresh produce, refrigerated or frozen foods, meat, seafood, alcohol, supplements, medicine, expired items, recalled items, opened packages, or damaged packages.
Moderation
DaBid uses seller attestations, automated text and image moderation, report controls, and block controls. New listings may be rejected or held before publication when automated checks are uncertain or detect risk. Reported listings may be rechecked and hidden automatically. Moderation decisions may include listing removal, account restrictions, or retained records needed for safety and abuse prevention.
