Privacy Policy
This starter policy describes the current DaBid app. It is not legal advice and should be reviewed before App Store submission.
Data DaBid Collects
- Account information such as email address, display name, home ZIP, age attestation, sign-in provider information, and profile privacy settings.
- Approximate location information typed by users, including home ZIP and listing pickup ZIP. DaBid does not request device location permission.
- User content such as listings, listing photos, packaged pantry food best-by dates, public pickup area notes, exact pickup instructions visible only to transaction participants after acceptance, reports, feedback messages, safety attestations, and profile choices.
- Safety review data such as automated moderation decisions, report history, and limited moderation audit records.
- Marketplace activity such as bids, bid retractions, free pickup requests, accepted-transaction pickup coordination state, selected pickup windows, transactions, score events, follows, blocks, leaderboard settings, activity events, and privacy requests.
- Saved searches stored on the device, including search text, category, ZIP, price, condition, and local alert state.
How DaBid Uses Data
- To create and secure accounts.
- To show listings, bids, pickup requests, transactions, reports, blocks, and privacy controls.
- To operate local leaderboard and trust-score features when a user chooses visible settings.
- To review feedback, reports, prohibited items, safety issues, and account requests.
- To run automated safety checks on listing text, listing photos, reports, and public profile text.
- To provide account export, deletion, and retained-data deletion workflows.
Sign-In Providers
The iOS app currently uses email code sign-in. Android builds may support Google sign-in through Google Credential Manager and Supabase Auth. When Google sign-in is used, DaBid receives the account information needed to create and secure the DaBid account, such as email address and provider account identifier.
Sharing and Public Visibility
Active listings can show the seller display name, seller score, item details, category, condition, listing photos, pickup ZIP, public pickup area note, pickup availability windows, and public listing metadata. Exact pickup instructions are not shown publicly; they are shown only to the buyer and seller after a transaction is accepted. Home ZIP is private unless the user changes privacy settings. Leaderboard visibility is controlled by the user.
DaBid may send listing text, listing photos, report details, and public profile text to an automated moderation provider to help detect unsafe or prohibited content. DaBid does not use this moderation flow for ads or tracking.
DaBid does not sell personal information, does not track users across apps or websites, and does not include ads or analytics SDKs in the current app.
Payments, Shipping, and Location
DaBid does not process payments, store cards, provide escrow, verify payment proof, ship items, arrange delivery, or request GPS location. Buyers and sellers are responsible for any external payment and pickup decisions they make.
Retention and Deletion
Users can request account deletion, data export, and retained-data deletion from the app. Account deletion deletes the sign-in account, clears local session state, anonymizes the public profile, removes active public listings, removes owned listing photos, and closes pending marketplace state where practical. DaBid may retain limited transaction, report, moderation, safety, legal, audit, dispute-history, or abuse-prevention records when needed, without keeping the deleted account public or active.
Children
DaBid is intended for adults 18 and older. The app does not knowingly allow users under 18 to create accounts.
